This is a practical, click-by-click guide to using the Walendria website at walendria.org— written for someone who has never used it before. It walks through every action you can take: connecting a wallet, buying something, selling something, and handling a dispute if one comes up. If you want the theory behind why it works this way, read What Is Walendria? instead; this page is purely the how-to.
Before you start: what you need
Two things, and both are quick to set up:
- A self-custodial wallet— a browser or mobile crypto wallet such as MetaMask, Rabby, or Rainbow. There is no Walendria account, no email, and no password; your wallet is your identity.
- A little xDAI on Gnosis Chain— xDAI is the currency Walendria uses. You need enough to cover whatever you are paying for, plus a tiny bit for gas (transaction fees on Gnosis Chain are a fraction of a cent). Make sure your wallet is switched to the Gnosis Chain network (chain id 100).
Then open walendria.org and click Connect Walletin the top-right corner. Approve the connection in your wallet, and — if prompted — approve switching to Gnosis Chain. That is the whole setup.
Finding your way around
The menu at the top groups everything by what you are trying to do:
| Menu | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Sell | Post an Integrity Bond and create a listing to sell something. |
| Buy | Browse every listing, or see the ones you have already paid for. |
| Disputes | See active disputes, or poke a resolved one and claim a payout. |
| Wallet | Your notifications and your full on-chain activity history. |
| Bonds | Deposit or withdraw your Integrity Bond capital. |
| Docs | This guide, the Rules, the Whitepaper, articles, and the prior-art record. |
How to buy and pay for a listing
Walendria is not a storefront you browse and check out from — you pay a specific listing that a seller has shared with you. Here is the flow:
- Get the listing ID from the seller. It is a number (for example, 42), or a full link that looks like
walendria.org/pay/42. - Open the pay page. Go to that link directly, or from the home page use the Pay a listingbox — type the listing ID and go.
- Review the details. The page shows the price, the seller, the completion window, the 0.5% developer fee, and exactly what the seller receives. Read the seller's on-chain title and description — that is what you are agreeing you will get.
- Click Pay and confirm in your wallet. Your wallet will ask you to approve the transaction. That single transaction verifies the amount, refunds any overpayment, deducts the fee, forwards the rest to the seller, and marks the transaction dispute-eligible.
The one rule that matters
Never send xDAI straight to a seller's wallet address. That gives you zero protection and is not a Walendria transaction. Always pay through the Pay button.
After you pay: confirming you got it
When the seller delivers what you paid for, confirm completionon the slot — this closes the transaction cleanly and frees the slot for reuse. If you do nothing and the completion window passes without a dispute, the slot finalizes on its own. If the seller does not deliver, don't confirm — open a dispute instead (next section).
How to sell something
Selling has one prerequisite that trips up newcomers: you post capital before you list.
- Deposit an Integrity Bond first. Go to Bonds → Integrity Bondand deposit some xDAI. This is your bonded capital — it stands in for a reputation score. Anything not currently backing a listing (your “Free IB”) is withdrawable at any time.
- Create a listing. On Sell, fill in the price (in xDAI), the number of slots, and the completion window in hours (minimum 72). Optionally add a title and description — keep them factual, because they are stored permanently on-chain and become the reference if a dispute happens. Creating the listing locks 1.5x the price per slot from your Free IB.
- Click Create listing and confirm in your wallet.Once it confirms, the new listing's ID appears under Your listings.
- Share the ID (or the /pay/<id> link) with your buyer. When they pay, the price minus the 0.5% fee arrives in your wallet immediately.
- Manage it as needed. From Your listings you can open Manage slots, Reduce the number of empty slots, or Close the listing (which stops new payments and releases the bond locked by still-empty slots).
If something goes wrong: disputes
A dispute is how a disagreement about delivery gets settled — without a support desk or a court. Either party can start one on the transaction's slot page.
Opening a dispute and adding evidence
On the slot's dispute page you fund the “guilty” side to open the dispute, and you can submit evidence— files are stored on IPFS and anchored on-chain, so like the listing text they are permanent and cannot be edited later. Attach the evidence that shows what was or wasn't delivered.
Trading the dispute (the Spectral Market)
Once a dispute is open, it becomes a market. Anyone — the two parties or an outside observer — can buy “Guilty” or “Innocent” shares. The live price reflects what the market currently believes is true, and you can see the price history on the same page. Buying the side you believe in both expresses your judgment and, if you are right, pays out.
How a dispute resolves, and poking
A dispute resolves automatically once one side has held at least 93% of the price for a cumulative hour. At that point the settlement has to be triggered — and anyone can do it. On Disputes → Claim / poke, click Poke settlement on an eligible dispute to resolve it and collect a bounty for the service. You do not have to be a party to the dispute to poke it.
How to claim your payout
After a dispute resolves, go to the Claim Payouts section of Claim / poke:
- Winning sharesredeem for a fixed amount each — redeem yours to collect.
- If the dispute resolved “Guilty”, the buyer additionally receives restitution from the seller's slashed bond. This is a pull payment: you claim it yourself; it is not sent automatically.
Keeping track: Notifications and History
Under the Wallet menu, Notifications flags new events that concern you (a badge shows unread ones), and Historyis your full, on-chain activity feed — every payment, trade, and claim, with the running balance after each. Nothing here depends on Walendria's servers; it is read straight from the chain.
Common questions & troubleshooting
I clicked Connect Wallet but nothing works — what's wrong?
You almost certainly need to switch your wallet's network to Gnosis Chain (chain id 100). Walendria only reads and writes on Gnosis Chain; if your wallet is on Ethereum or another network the app cannot transact. Most wallets show a 'Wrong network' prompt — approve the switch to Gnosis Chain and reconnect.
It says 'Listing not found'.
The listing ID is wrong or was mistyped. Ask the seller to resend the exact numeric ID or the full /pay/<id> link, and check you are on the same network the seller used.
The listing says 'No open slots'.
Every slot on that listing is currently booked, in a dispute, or retired, so there is nothing to pay for right now. A slot recycles back to open when its buyer confirms completion or the completion window expires without a dispute. Wait and refresh, or ask the seller to add capacity.
Do I send xDAI directly to the seller's wallet address?
No — never. Paying directly to a wallet gives you no protection and is not a Walendria transaction. Always pay through the Pay button on /pay/<id>. That routes the payment through the contract, which verifies the amount, refunds any overpayment, takes the fee, forwards the rest to the seller, and makes the transaction dispute-eligible — all in one step.
I overpaid. Do I lose the extra?
No. If you send more than the price, the contract refunds the excess to you in the same transaction automatically.
I'm a seller — when do I get paid, and where is the money held?
There is no holding period. The moment a buyer pays, the price minus a 0.5% fee lands in your wallet in that same transaction. Your buyer's protection is not a withheld payment — it is the Integrity Bond you locked, which is 1.5x the price per slot.
Can I edit or delete a listing's title or description after creating it?
No. Both are stored permanently on-chain and cannot be changed. If a dispute is ever opened, that title and description are the primary reference for whether you delivered what you offered — so write them factually before you create the listing.
How large a transaction can I make?
Up to the protocol's immutable per-transaction hardcap of 100 xDAI. The Create-a-listing form and the pay flow both enforce it; a price above the cap is rejected.
